Testing and Software Architecture have been my main concerns during the last six years. You will find mainly links and references to books that have greatly influenced me.
- Thoughts about Software Architecture: I am a manager. Unfortunately, as a manager you can’t do as much research as should be done to make difficult decisions with far reaching consequences. However, once you grow old you realize that experience is a good teacher if you listen to it.
- Patterns: I am a pattern freak. Patterns are used in programming and for many other purposes as well. Patterns stem from the field of “real” architecture. I find a lot of patterns still undiscovered in the discipline of technical management decisions in software engineering. I will eventually draft some, but still that is not my basic job. My basic skill should be to arrive at decisions quickly and to find out the right sources. If you are in a similar position as I am you might find certain links helpful.
- Toastmasters: A reference to toastmasters has been included here. It is a wonderful possibility to combine training and pleasure, especially if you live in a country where English is not the native language.
